How do I find out what jobs are available?
Choose the type of career you are looking for. There are two options:
- Open Posting System – For Baffinland Bargaining Unit Employees Only
- Current Vacancies – For All Applicants
What Is the Open Posting System (OPS)?
Open Posting is a system that allows Baffinland’s bargaining unit employees to apply for positions within Baffinland at any time, without having to wait for a specific opening.
Internal applications, which are assessed and evaluated at the time they are made, can then be placed on file for final selection purposes whenever job openings occur. No employee gets missed, and employees do not have to reapply for the same positions.
This is the one point for all applications for Inuit and non-Inuit bargaining unit employees to submit applications for promotion.
The Open Posting System of course remains subject to the other provisions of the Partnership Agreement.
All of the information necessary to submit an application can be obtained by clicking on the button on the right. It includes job descriptions for every job, as well as the qualifications, skills and experience that Baffinland will be looking for in assessing applications.

I have applied to a job, what is next?
Once an application is received, resumes will be reviewed by our recruiters. Resumes where candidates meet the qualifications will be contacted for a pre-screen interview. The pre-screen interview assesses your understanding of the role, desire, and ability to work at Baffinland. Once all applicants are reviewed, a second review is conducted to shortlist best possible matches.
I have completed a pre-screen interview, what is the next step?
Once pre-screens are completed, if you are successful, you will be contacted by the Hiring Manager, Superintendent or Supervisor for an interview.
As a result of the interviews, the best possible candidate is identified and the Hiring Manager advises recruitment with a recommendation to hire.
A verbal offer will be extended to you from a recruiter. The recruiter will advise on next steps in the onboarding process that includes background screening and pre-employment medicals. Once a verbal offer is accepted and a clear medical and background is received, a formal offer will be presented.
